During Activision's most recent financial conference call, King's CEO Riccardo Zacconi, had the opportunity to talk about the future of his company, which has recently by acquired by Activision-Blizzard, with a $5.9 billion agreement sealing the deal.
As relayed by Zacconi, the company is looking to start developing mobile games based on popular Activision-Blizzard franchises, which makes sense given King's history in this area and their new position relative to these potentially lucrative IPs.
Given the huge success of Hearthstone on mobile devices, it would only be natural for Activision-Blizzard to look at making more mobile titles dedicated to franchises such as Call of Duty, StarCraft, and Diablo (to name but three).
At the moment there is nothing confirmed from either company, so we're just going to have to wait for further developments and announcement.
Thanks, DualShockers.
