Firaxis are set to unleash the next content drop for Xcom 2, with the Alien Hunter DLC set to land on May 12. Costing £7.99 / $9.99 / €9.99 (if you've got the Reinforcement Pack it's paid for already), the new content includes a narrative-driven mission, new weapons/armour, the "Hunter's Lodge" update to the Avenger's Armory, and most interesting of all, three new "Ruler" alien enemies. Here's what the Xcom Blog says about the latter:

They will show up at random in your campaign, once you've completed the new narrative mission, and each will have their own unique behavior and tactics, so don't expect them to act like their subordinates. If you can't take out a ruler quick enough, the alien will escape to fight another day. We believe these rulers are incredibly intelligent and are pursuing your soldiers across the globe.

The blog also details the four new weapons (the Bolt Caster, the Hunter's Axe, the ShadowKeeper pistol, and the Frost Bomb grenade), and there's also intel regarding the three new suits of armour that players can unlock. Finally, the DLC will bring with it some bug fixes, campaign and multiplayer balance tweaks, and overall game performance should be optimised.
