Sega and Creative Assembly have just announced that they're bringing official modding support to Total War: Warhammer. The announcement will be good news to those who thought they weren't going to get Assembly Kit and Steam Workshop support for the fantasy-themed strategy game, but with the relevant paperwork all sorted out, it looks like modding functionality will be in place at launch on May 24.

Via Steam Workshop players will be able to "upload, browse, follow, discuss and install available mods straight from Steam, and access and manage them from the new Total War Mod Manager." On top of that, using Assembly Kit (CA's modding tool set), creative types will have access to "the Database Editor and BOB for modifying and exporting database tables and campaign start positions, with the aim to add further functionality, including battle map editing, later in the year."
