Nintendo recently entered the mobile market with the highly successful Miitomo social app, and based on its success they now have just announced new figures and plans for the future.

In less than a month's time (depending on whether you're in Japan or the west), Miitomo has reached the impressive figure of 10 million users worldwide and first places in both Google Play and App Store rankings. To celebrate this, users will be able to take part in a special promotion happening April 29 - May 8.

But Miitomo's success is also good proof and indicator for Nintendo on the new market, and thus the company felt it's the right moment to announce both Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem apps are coming to smart devices this fall. The former was pretty much a given, and the latter is just another expansion step for the 26 years old SRPG franchise, and with Fire Emblem Fates for 3DS around the corner after many cameos and crossovers with other series. Both applications are of course more gaming-oriented than Miitomo and its social approach.

The Animal Crossing app will somehow be connected to the console games (no 3DS, Wii U or NX platform mentioned), in a way Nintendo still needs to explain. The Fire Emblem app is meant to make the strategy-RPG more user-friendly than the main entries in the series.

Nintendo will share more info on its second and third foray in the mobile space in the next few months.
