Southern Japan was hit by a two devastating earthquakes earlier this month, which has led to thousands of people losing their homes, injuries, and so far 29 confirmed deaths. This is putting a huge strain on the local community, and both individuals and companies are helping out as much as they can.
Square Enix is one of those companies, and on its website, a company rep has written: "Square Enix Group (the "Group") extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to all those affected by the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake.
"With the hope to support the earliest possible relief and recovery of affected regions, the Group has made a donation of 50 million Japanese yen to the Japan Red Cross Society."
That is about €400,000 / £320,000, which is hopefully enough to really help ease the plight of people suffering from this tragedy.
