The Pokémon Company International has collaborated with the British artist Quentin Devine to create the largest trading cards mosaic in the world, using 12,987 individual cards from the Pokémon Trading Card Game series. The enormous work, which measures 71.54 square meters and hanging at over ten meters tall and seven meters wide, was shown yesterday in Paris. Devine's mosaic features the iconic yellow Pokémon mascot, Pikachu, as it was originally drawn by Game Freak's Ken Sugimori.

"We are incredibly excited to have secured this highly ambitious world record, and are thrilled to have worked with renowned artist Quentin Devine to bring the mosaic to life," says Anthony Cornish, marketing director at The Pokémon Company.

Quentin Devine is an artist, animator and designer, who lives in Surrey. In the past he already showed off his incredible talent creating a giant mosaic of Leonard Da Vinci's Mona Lisa using only portraits of his fans, and then he created an image of Queen Elizabeth using only pennies. The Pikachu mosaic is his largest work to date. You can see his talent on display in the pictues below.
