This year's Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco (March 14-18) enjoyed record attendance with more than 27,000 game industry professionals partaking in the conference.
"This year's GDC, paired with the inaugural VRDC, allows us to look both backwards at the legacy and lessons of previous years, and forward to the future of games and VR experiences. Even in its 30th edition, GDC continues to evolve and grow to encompass all of the key lessons, advancements and artistic strides that the industry makes. Once again, the staff, volunteers, speakers, students and attendees have made GDC 2016 an amazing, fun and safe show all around," said Meggan Scavio, general manager of the Game Developers Conference.
GDC week is best described as a grouping of summits, conferences, expos and events that extends beyond the confines of the Moscone Center where the main activities are hosted. Part of GDC week is also the prestigious Game Developer's Choice Awards (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won the grand prize this year) as well as the Indie Games Festival.
Next year's GDC will once again be held at Moscone Center starting on February 27.
