The Pokémon Company has announced via a press release (translated by NeoGAF user JoeM86) that core entries in the Pokémon series have now sold 200 million copies combined. If you include spin-offs, however, that number sits much, much higher at 279 million copies. The next core entry will come in the form of Pokémon Sun/Moon, which will release during the holiday period later this year.
