Fans have been waiting patiently for months, and today the date was finally revealed. The multiplayer beta for Gears of War 4 will start on April 18.
Initially the beta will only be open for people who have fired up Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before April 11 (so there's still time), before the test is opened up to the general public on April 24. From there the festivities will run until May 1, and the only requirement for participation is an active Xbox Live Gold membership.
It has already been confirmed that the multiplayer portion of the game will run at 60 fps, unlike the campaign's refresh rate of 30. This will hopefully ensure the smooth and responsive experience needed to make Gears of War 4 as successful as its predecessors.
