It has been confirmed that the main series of Assassin's Creed games will take a break in 2016, but that doesn't mean the year will be free of assassinations in the name of the brotherhood. Quite the contrary, as we already have the spin-off series Assassin's Creed Chronicles (2.5D action/stealth platforms), there's a mobile action-RPG, and now an Assassin's Creed VR Experience has been announced as well.
The reveal took place at the Game Developers Conference which is being held in San Francisco this week, more specifically during the AMD press conference. Later the reveal was made public by Ubisoft on Twitter: "Just announced: Assassin's Creed VR experience - based on the film - is coming this year from FOX & Practical Magic."
As the tweet states, the VR experience will be based on the upcoming movie. During the conference is was noted that the VR experience was filmed alongside the movie, throughout locations ranging from Malta and Spain to the UK. It was also stressed that the VR experience is "not a game" in the traditional sense.
Practical Magic VR is in charge of the Assassin's Creed VR Experience, and we look forward to learning more about the project in the future. Premieres of the Assassin's Creed movie are planned to take place between December 21 and December 30 in most of Europe.
