2016 is the year of VR, and it seems that the three big VR headsets could all be releasing later on this year. The Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are both intended for high-end PCs, whilst the Playstation VR will launch exclusively for PS4.

The minimum requirements for the Rift and Vive are both more than the PS4 would be able to handle, so Sony have their work cut out for them in terms of getting their VR system to work smoothly on the PS4.

In an interview with Polygon, Masayasu Ito explained it so: "If you just talk about the high-end quality, yes, I would admit that Oculus may have better VR. However, it requires a very expensive and very fast PC. The biggest advantage for Sony is our headset works with PS4. It's more for everyday use, so it has to be easy to use and it has to be affordable."

Release dates for both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, along with pricing, has been announced, and it probably won't be long before one comes for Playstation VR. In fact, we expect Sony will commit to a launch date next week during GDC.
