In the recent times it seems Nintendo has largely forgotten about The Legend of Zelda Wii U, the highly anticipated game previously expected in 2015, then delayed to this year with its release meant to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the series.

But fear not, Zelda fans, the game is progressing. In a recent interview with Famitsu (via Kotaku), the series producer Eiji Aonuma wanted to reassure all fans by saying that development has been quite challenging, but it is progressing well.

In fact, he said: "When we did Skyward Sword for the Wii, at the end stages of development, I was in charge of the characters' dialogue and the in-game text. And, now as well, it's like it was then. I had to work on text today, too."

"But, the game has really taken shape, and things have gotten easier. That means things are progressing well."

Aonuma also added that we can expect a truly new 'taste' for Zelda Wii U, as Ocarina of Time did in the past:

"I think the base of our secret sauce has always been Ocarina of Time. But this time, the change in flavor will be like going from Japanese food to Western style food. Perhaps, players will be surprised."

It seems that Nintendo is preparing a big surprise for fans, and these Aonuma statements are just adding to our curiosity. We cannot wait to learn more.
