The latest issue of UK trade magazine <a href="https://issuu.com/newbayeurope/docs/mcv868_march_4th">MCV</2> has confirmed that Sony's PlayStation 4 has passed 3 million units sold in the UK, with the significant milestone reached in January of this year.
This localised achievement sits alongside consistently impressive worldwide sales, with Sony reporting in January that they had shifted an additional 5.7 million units during the latest holiday period, bringing the then total up to 35.9 million units sold.
During the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference earlier this week, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen suggested that there was a combined total of 60 million PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in circulation worldwide. If this number is accurate, and considering the near 36 million total confirmed by Sony just a few weeks ago, the PS4 has a significant lead over its nearest competitor.
