A while back EA tried to register a trademark for the word "Ghost" because of the Need for Speed studio Ghost Games. This did not sit well with Ubisoft, as they claimed the trademark would "cause confusion" in relation to the upcoming Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Therefore they decided to dispute the trademark application, and EA had until March 9 to respond.
Now it seems that things have changed, after a NeoGAF user discovered that EA has abandoned the trademark. It's unclear what implications this will have for Ghost Games. Maybe a name change is imminent? Or maybe they'll just leave things as they are.
Thanks, Gamespot.
