An anonymous developer calling himself "a tired dev" claiming to work at Obsidian Entertainment has made some negative posting over at Joystiq about Alpha Protocol - a game he was involved in developing. The game has received less than glowing reviews (we are working on our review right now), and the comment was made in Joystiq's rather brutal review.
Here are some of the comments he made:
"I worked on this game (a fact of which I am not proud). I'm not here to defend it; I agree with all these reviews"
"The Executive Producer for the game, Chris Parker (also an owner of the company), seemed to think he was the world's greatest designer ever, and created all these absolutely shitty systems and wouldn't listen to any of the real designers or devs about things that just didn't work.
"And you can't exactly argue with one of the owners of the company when he doesn't want to listen. He basically took over the game and dictated exactly how everything would work (or not work, as the case may be)."
"Sega should have canceled AP instead of Aliens..."
The post goes on with negatives until the poster says that Obsidian's current projects including Fallout: New Vegas and an unannounced title are looking way better. Take it for what it is, but if it is indeed from a member of the development team it is some very damaging words and it also suggests as less than hospitable working environment.
