It's been very quiet lately from the folks at Oddworld Inhabitants - the game developer turned animation studio. But new president Larry Shapiro, who recently left the troubled Brash Entertainment, aims for the company to make a return to the big leagues as the former president Lorne Lanning returns to take charge of the creative side of the company.
According to Variety work on the animated feature Citizen Siege has seized, and it is now likely that the next thing we will see out of Oddworld Inhabitants is the next chapter in the Oddworld saga. It is hard to tell exactly what that will be, but it would seem there will be a game of some sorts... but it will be a while until we find out exactly what the inhabitants are up to unfortunately.
"I have a great opportunity to add value to a company and to work with people who I am inspired by and who look to where the industry is going and not where its been. We intend to break the model of where games are today in a unique and entertaining way." Shapiro told Variety.
The best quote though was when Variety asked Shapiro to comment on Brash Entertainment:
"I wanted to make Brash the Miramax or HBO of videogames, but sales marketing and finance wanted it to be Majesco."
