The next issue of Nintendo Power includes a preview of the next Guitar Hero-game, called Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The game is supposed to go back to the roots of the series, to "capture the soul" of the first three games and renew the focus on guitar-based music. It's also supposed to feature a story-based "quest" mode, narrated by Gene Simmons himself, where you have to gather warriors to fight against the evil Beast that turned the Demigod of Rock into stone. Bitter that you lost the awesome metal-story in Brütal Legend, Activision?
All the stuff from Guitar Hero 5, like party mode and being able to play any mix of instruments you wish, is still in Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.
