Starting from September 29 and running up until October 29, the World Championships will be located at venues across the US, making stops at iconic stadiums like the Staples Centre and Madison Square Garden. The 2013 World Championships were also in the USA, and the finals are to take place in the same venue.
The tournament will be split into four stages: Group stages, from September 20 to October 2 and from October 6-9 in San Francisco; quarterfinals will be from October 13-16 in Chicago; semi-finals on 21 and 22 October in New York City, and the finals on October 29 in Los Angeles.
The tournament was last held in Europe, with venues in France, the UK, Belgium, and Germany. The Korean Team SKT T1 won the cup, becoming the first ever team to win the coveted Summoners Cup twice.
