During the night McFarlane posted an ad for an upcoming series of toys based on Titanfall. According to the ad, they will be released "Winter 2016", and reading the pressrelease it says that the "action figures will be released in conjunction with the highly anticipated launch of Titanfall 2".

But Titanfall 2 doesn't have a released date and hasn't even been formally been announced, even if EA have confirmed that a new Titanfall will be released during their fiscal 2017 (ends March 31, 2017). One has to assume that McFarlane - makers of official merchandise for the game - are well informed about the time tale.

A safe bet then is that Titanfall 2 will be released during the winter of 2016, but that also raises questions about the next Battlefield game that pretty much everyone assumed would be released for the holidays as well. It could of course be that EA will space these two titles out a little bit, but still if they are released around the same time they will be in competition with eachother as there are only so many shooter fans around.

Here is a snippet from the ad for the toys to give you an idea of what to expect:

"Each figure will stand seven inches tall, have an average of fifteen points of articulation for incredible poses and play action and feature screen accurate accessories and weapons. The figures will boast the same meticulous level of detail that McFarlane has become known for over the last two decades."

Todd McFarlane himself also had a few things to say about the upcoming Titanfall 2 toy line:

"This is a perfect fit. McFarlane [Toys] was created so I could make cool stuff just like this. Without saying too much about the new game... You're not going to believe where we can take this."
