The zombie multiplayer crafting sandbox game H1Z1 will be split in half. From next week onwards we will get H1Z1: Just Survive taking care of the sandbox survival part, while H1Z1: King of the Kill will focus on straight forward arena battles.
"The more we developed this game, the more we realized that in order to fully support both aspects of H1Z1, and their respective players, we needed to make them their own stand-alone games supported by their own dedicated development teams", dev studio Daybreak Game Company states in a press release.
Both portions will end up being paid games with optional micro transactions, while H1Z1 was originally planned as free to play. Daybreak have been selling the game via Steam Early Access. If you have bought the game before February 16th you will receive both games, which will cost $19.99 each after the split. Both games will be Early Access, with H1Z1: King of the Kill planned fully launch this summer on PC and consoles and H1Z1: Just Survive will follow later.
