Earlier this week we learned that the World War II game, Battalion 1944, was being developed, and in the process developer Bulkhead Interactive took the game to Kickstarter asking for £100,000. The crowd has obviously been yearning for a war game free of jet packs, mech suits and future tech weapons, and the backing on Kickstarter shows that players have put their money where their mouths are.

In fact, on the game's Kickstarter page we can see that the fundraising has already reached its goal, and that's with 27 days to spare. The support might just be a result of what the developer writes about the game:

"Battalion recaptures the intensity of classic multiplayer shooters, revitalising the WW2 genre on PC & Console using Unreal Engine 4."

Battalion 1944 is heading to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with an expected release date in May of next year.
