Hennig's and Raymond's Star Wars game still far, far away

EA is making an investment in action games, but the return won't be seen soon.

As we reported almost a year ago, the former Naughty Dog director and writer Amy Hennig has joined Visceral Games (Dead Space series) to help create a story-drive game based on the Star Wars license. Even though the development/pre-production started around the same time as Star Wars Battlefront, we shouldn't expect to see the result any time soon.

The same thing is also true for the next game from Jade Raymond, who left Ubisoft to start up the new Montreal based studio, EA Motive. Her team are also helping out on Visceral's Star Wars title, along with other projects, but none of these are planned for release during the next fiscal year.

This was revealed by EA CFO Blake Jorgensen, who in EA's quarterly report to shareholders says the games are "obviously a few years out".

It remains to be seen whether we'll see another big Star Wars title from EA in 2016, in addition to continued updates for Star Wars Battlefront and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Thanks, NeoGAF.
