Microsoft posted its financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2016, which ended December 31. The company can finally breathe a sigh of relief, as it has grossed a total of $25 billion, with a net gain of $6.3 billion. In particular, good growth was reported by the gaming division; during the same time window there was an increase of 9%.
More surprising are the results in terms of gaming software, where titles like Halo 5: Guardians and Minecraft have allowed the company to grow by 57% over the same period last year. Excellent results regarding Xbox Live, where the user base - measured on the number of active users every month - has enjoyed growth of 30%, reaching a peak of 48 million players. It is worth noting, however, that these numbers also include those who don't own a Gold subscription.
The only area where Microsoft has encountered some difficulties are the hardware department: although the Redmond-based company didn't reveal the numbers, it seems that the figures are negative, probably due to a decline determined by the inevitable abandonment of Xbox 360.
Thanks, VG247 and DualShockers.
