Kotaku reports that the Fight Night team at EA Canada in Burnaby, British Columbia are handling development on EA Sports UFC (working title), a game that was announced on short notice back at E3 with UFC president Dana White taking the stage at EA's press conference.
It would seem that EA won't be using the EA Sports MMA team at EA Tiburon (now busy on NBA Live and Madden), but surely some insights may be shared between the teams.
At this point it is unclear when we might see EA Sports UFC, but by the sounds of it the team didn't get started on it until after it was announced.
"Most of the team didn't even know about [the new UFC game] until the announcement at E3," David Hayes, creative director told Kotaku. "We were all watching it together and when Andrew Wilson and [UFC president] Dana White (pictured at right) took the stage, everybody starting cheering. It was great."
