Right now you can hear John "TotalBiscuit" Bain's emotional goodbye to his followers on social media over on Soundcloud. Bain was diagnosed with cancer some time ago, and after time spent in treatment the disease was declared incurable. The doctors have given him 2-3 years to live, and he has now decided to leave at least one stressful aspect of his life behind.
He will keep making YouTube videos and hosting streams, but other than that Bain will focus on his family, mental health and chemotherapy. Kotaku has transcribed Bain's message, but we recommend you listen to the whole thing on Soundcloud. It's emotional, but also understandable when he makes statements like this:
"This is my fucking life, and what is left of it I am going to take control back. Sorry if this disappoints people. I know the vast majority of you are cool and you like this level of interaction, but if this is going to be the last few years that I get to live, I'm going to try and live it in a way that doesn't make me miserable. I have too much shit on my plate as it is. I don't need anymore."
