Fads a known thing in the video game business, especially with peripherals that has become immensely popular, only to then lose all popularity. This includes different editions of lightguns, Nintendo's Wii Fit board and, of course, Kinect.
This is something Sony want to avoid this scenario with PlayStation VR. Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia President Atsushi Morita has revealed some plans for the future in an interview with Japanese video game outlet Famitsu, and declared how he will prevent that dies prematurely.
One of these ideas are to let gamers try PlayStation VR in stores around Asia to make sure they understand the experience. He also says it is important to support developers, since it's up to them to make it interesting. Without software it's nothing. He also says it's important to have other ideas for the headset, that doesn't exist in games to begin with.
We assume those ideas are valid for the western markets as well, and hopefully, we'll soon get a launch date and prices for PlayStation VR.
Thanks, Dual Shockers.
