Frontier's space sim, Elite: Dangerous, launched on PC at the tail end of 2014, and then the following year on Xbox One, with the latter version releasing as the first game on the Preview Program (the Xbox version of Early Access).
In that time the huge sci-fi sandbox has sold 1.4 million copies across both platforms. According to Frontier the average playtime is around 60 hours per user, which is impressive in itself.
There's also the expansion, Horizons, which is currently in Early Access on Steam and is expected to release fully later this year. There has been no word of the expansion hitting consoles as of yet, but when it does it'll mean players will be able to land their ships on planets and explore to their heart's content.
We're going to be offering our thoughts Horizons in the coming days, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, here's our review of the base game from early last year.
