With the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise just around the corner, Nintendo has prepared some surprises for fans of the iconic pocket monsters. Today Nintendo of Europe announced the launch of three new Nintendo 2DS Special Edition Pokémon bundles, and they'll be available later next month.
The new Nintendo 2DS Special Edition bundle includes a Nintendo 2DS in red, blue or yellow , and a pre-installed copy of the Virtual Console version of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue Version or Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition, which corresponds to the colour of the handheld. Furthermore, these bundles also include an original package of the classics for Game Boy, a sheet with fifteen stickers that can be used to personalise the Nintendo 2DS consoles, and a code to download a theme for the Home Menu.

In addition to this, Nintendo announced that two new Pokémon-themed covers for New Nintendo 3DS will be released, one dedicated to Super Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, and the other classic Pokémon. Both the new covers and the new Nintendo 2DS Special Edition bundles will be available in Europe on February 27, the same day that the original games were launched in Japan back in 1996.
