Oculus VR boss Palmer Luckey hit Reddit yesterday, for one of the site's popular "Ask Me Anything" sessions. There's a lot of good information to be found in the thread, and we were especially pleased to learn that over 100 games for the Oculus Rift headset will be released in 2016 alone. To use Luckey's own words when asked about the number of planned releases:
"At least 100 - Over 20 Oculus Studios titles, many more 3rd party titles."
With Oculus Rift in many ways leading the way for the virtual reality revolution, expectations for the headset is growing by the minute. The price point has been set as high as £500/$600, and in light of this it's reassuring to see that decent library of games is planned alongside the hardware.
The release date is set to March 28th, and the recommended system specs for the headset are as follows:
• Graphics card: NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD R9 290 equivalent or greater
• Processor: Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
• Memory: 8GB+ RAM
• Output: Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
• Input: 3x USB 3.0 ports plus 1x USB 2.0 port
• Operating system: Windows 7 SP1 64 bit or newer
