There has been a lot of rumours and speculation regarding the release of Final Fantasy XV, and understandably so, as the game has been in development for nearly a decade. However, now the game's director, Hajime Tabata, has reaffirmed in a New Year's Note, that the game will launch sometime in 2016.

"We will finally release FFXV this year, in 2016. In development, previous phases required wisdom and strength. However, moving forward the final phase will focus on effort and willpower."

The game is rumoured to release during the summer, but we'll know more in a couple of months when a big event centred around the game is scheduled to take place in March.
