No Episode VII content planned for Star Wars Battlefront

At least not for "this release".

Don't expect to see the new First Order style Stormtroopers or remodeled Resistance X-Wing fighters in Star Wars Battlefront from DICE. In fact there will be nothing from the recent Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens that will make its way into the multiplayer shooter in the shape of DLC. This was revealed as the official Twitter channel answered fan questions:

"Our team is focusing on the original trilogy for this release of Star Wars Battlefront."

While the official word has always been that this game would focus entirely on Episodes IV-VI, many thought that maybe we would see some content from the new movie as DLC, but apparently DICE have stayed the course. It is also interesting to note the wording here as "this release" implies what we've been hearing from multiple sources, namely that DICE will developed further Star Wars Battlefront titles in the coming years. And perhaps the most natural fit would be a new game focusing entirely on the content from Episode VII (and possibly Episode VIII, depending on when it may see release).
