In the penultimate week where the race is won (and lost) for the Christmas number one spot, the usual suspects are all staking their respective claims. In the ascendancy this week is Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which was the overall best-selling game of the week ending December 12.

Blops 3 doesn't take all the honours though, as Star Wars Battlefront (no doubt taking full advantage of the anticipation building around the imminent movie release) sold better on PS4 than any other game on any other platform.

FIFA 16 drops to third, but given that in the past the series has enjoyed eight Xmas number ones, who'd want to bet against EA's football sim enjoying a last minute resurgence as people wrap up their shopping.
