We've already reported about the new fighting system in Final Fantasy VII: Remake, the fact the it'll be released episodically and that original composer Nobuo Uematsu won't be involved in the production.

It seems like these won't be the only major changes coming to the game, the story will also be somewhat altered. In a new blog post, producer Yoshinori Kitase says he has asked himself the question: "Did I really want to spend so many years making the same game again?"

Obviously, the answer seems to be no, because Kitase moves things along by stating that he will go beyond the original story and expand it:

"With Final Fantasy 7 Remake, we have the opportunity to go beyond the story, world and experience of Final Fantasy 7 in ways we've always dreamed of - from the depths of Midgar to the skies above the Planet."

It remains to be seen what this means in the end for Final Fantasy VII: Remake, but it's clear that it will bring a lot of changes to the original formula. We suspect there will be those that are vocally for and against this kind of development.
