Microsoft have been pushing a campaign ever since E3 in June, branding 2015 as having the "best Xbox lineup ever". There could be some truth to that, and certainly, with exclusives Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Forza Motorsport 6 all receiving great scores on Gamereactor, we would tend to agree.
Now though, it seems that 2016 also will have the "best lineup ever". At yesterdays Credit Suisse Technology Broker Conference, Corporate Vice President for Windows and Devices Marketing Yusuf Mehdi spoke about the upcoming year for the console:
"On Gaming, Gaming has been pretty big success case. Gaming, think about it in two pieces: there is a traditional Xbox console business where we compete with Sony, and there we have had probably the best year we have ever had for Xbox, and it's still on the back of the greatest game lineup of the Xbox history.
So if you like games, this is the year to get an Xbox. We have Halo 5 launching. We have Minecraft on Xbox. We have Gears of War, Tomb Raider... Best lineup. Next year will also be the best lineup. That leads to really a great success on it."
There seems to be a trend here, but then again, confidence is key, and next year marks the release of games like Crackdown 3 and Quantum Break, as well as Scalebound, the new Gears of War, Halo Wars 2, Recore and more.
Thanks, Dualshockers.
