Elite controller an "unexpected success" for Microsoft

Demand has exceeded Microsoft's planning tweets Spencer.

In spite of a hefty price tag the new Xbox One Elite Controller has sold out nearly everywhere. In a tweet Xbox head Phil Spencer admits that the reason is very simple, they did not expect such interest and thus did not produced enough controllers:

"It's tough as I don't want to overpromise. Demand has just exceeded our planning. If you find one and you want it, pick it up, sorry," Spencer responds to a question about getting a hold of a controller prior to Christmas.

Hopefully supply will catch up to demand soon.
