Ubisoft making Spartacus game

Ubisoft are working on a Spartacus game, based on popular the television series.

Spartacus Legends is due to be released as a download only title on Xbox Live Arcade and on the Playstation Network, and it will be available in early 2013, according to a report in MCV.

The game will take players to the gladiatorial setting of the television show, putting them in the role of Spartacus or Crixus (or a character born of their own imagination), as they chomp through fellow gladiators in the arena. There'll be online multiplayer, and worldwide leader boards.

Liam McIntyre, the actor who took over the role of Spartacus after the death of Andy Whitfield, is lending his vocal talents to the project.

The press release reads: "Featuring thousands of ruthless weapon combinations and a robust skill system, Spartacus Legends delivers a variety of tools for gamers to customize their gladiators and dismember their foes."

Presumably, this one's going to be incredibly violent.
