Last month 2.1 million games were sold by UK retailers, a figure that represents a decline of sales equivalent to roughly 40 per cent.
The rise of digital sales will surely account for some of the drop, but even that can't paper of the fact that the industry is struggling of late. Retailers made £48.4 from sales last month, compared to £78.4m the previous year (facts from UKIE GfK Chart-Track, via MCV).
Last month's biggest release was Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes, but the best selling title was Ubisoft's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
