If you still have some doubts about Fallout 4's success, you're about to have them put to rest as Bethesda have announced some very impressive sales figures for the game. The game that was released worldwide on November 10, shipped approximately 12 million units registering sales in excess of $750 million on day one. Thanks to the contribution of the Pip-Boy Limited Edition, sold out in a few hours after its announcement, the game set a new record as the most pre-ordered game this year, while Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition was the fastest-selling Collector's Edition ever.
The digital sales are really impressive as well: Fallout 4 was the most played non-Valve game on Steam, surpassing the previous record, held by Grand Theft Auto V, with over 470,000 players simultaneously. The Fallout Pip-Boy companion app immediately climbed the charts of iTunes App Store, winning first place, and lastly the game has set a new record as the most watched game to launch in 2015 on Twitch. With all this happy news, the Game Director on Fallout 4, Todd Howard, wanted to thank the fans around the world with this message:
"A huge thanks to our fans that've made this all possible. After four years of development, it's not complete until our fans get to play it and make it their own. We can't wait to hear about their adventures."
