In spite of more Tuesday launches than in any previous year, Call of Duty switched it up this year as it opted for a Friday release instead of a Tuesday premiere (typical fair for worldwide release). Fewer days of sales as we sum up last week's sales then, but Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 still managed the 14th best UK first week of all-time (7th best for the Call of Duty series - but you may want to note all of those launched on a Tuesday). Given that the old-gen version came without a campaign and with multiplayer locked at just 30 frames per second it should perhaps not come as a surprise that new-gen adoption rate was 91%.
EA's Need for Speed reboot came in third, and the rest of the charts saw some notable older games race up the charts as a result of price promotions (Mario Kart 7 saw a sales increase of 898% at number 14 on the all formats chart).
