After the big success of Disney Infinity and Skylanders (and their respective toys), TT Games and Warner Bros. have decided to join the fun with their own toy-to-life option, Lego Dimensions, a game that has been available since September 29 (but only in certain countries).

The base game and additional toy packs are quite expensive, and so to help players save some money Warner has introduced an interesting new feature, and it's called Hire a Hero. It's a rental system where players can use the in-game currency to temporarily play with certain characters.

At the moment it's only possible to unlock the first wave of characters, while the second - the one that includes Doctor Who - will be available at a later point in time. You can read our Lego Dimension's review here.
