Blizzard has announced a few tidbits regarding their current portfolio of titles. First up the closed beta for Overwatch has proved popular, with the company revealing that they had over 7 million players sign up to try their first foray into the world of first-person shooters.

Elsewhere the company are boasting that as a result of continuing support for their card battler, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, the game has enjoyed steady growth and "key engagement metrics grew 77% year-over-year and set a new quarterly revenue record for the franchise."

The major talking point, however, is World of Warcraft, with the studio stating that the game remains the number one subscription-based MMORPG in the world. They describe the current number of subscribers - 5.5 million - as "relatively stable," while claiming that players are looking forward to the upcoming Legion expansion.

Elsewhere in the world of Blizzard, the third and final chapter in the StarCraft II saga, Legacy of the Void, is set to take a bow on PC and Mac on November 10.
