Halo 5: Guardians has only just released, but this doesn't mean that 343 Industries aren't already talking about the inevitable sequel that will be released at some point in the future.

It was during a Games Radar livestream that Halo franchise director Frank O'Connor admitted that the complaints about the removal of local co-op and multiplayer had been massive.

While 343 Industries can't add split-screen to Guardians via a patch (the game's not setup to feature it), O'Connor says the feature might be back in the next Halo game:

"Realistically, for Halo 5, it's not something we can just throw in a patch. It's just not feasible with the way the engine works. Split-screen is fun for me too. It's not something that I object to, and we would've loved to put it in. We'll talk about it for the next game, and we'll talk about it for the future."
