You might have thought that things couldn't have gotten any worse for PES 2016 players who enjoy the offline Master League mode, with it taking Konami weeks to update the roster to reflect the final transfers of the summer window.
Then, of course, they updated the rosters, but in doing so missed out the transfers completed in the last days of the window, leaving their players with outdated teams yet again (more on that here).
It now seems that this unsatisfactory state of affairs is set to continue, with the PES team writing an open letter to fans where they apologise for the delay, at the same time as admitting that an update with accurate team rosters is still weeks away.
The statement confirmed that they're now postponing the planned release of the second Data Pack (which was due at the end of November), as it will now release alongside the corrected rosters, whenever that may be. They were planning on releasing a new stadium on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game (the Maracana), but this too has been delayed.
It's not all doom and gloom, and there will at least be a slither of a silver lining for players, with some extra content coming to the game, at some point in the coming weeks.
"The extra time needed will also be used to add more content into the game that wasn't planned at this stage, such as new kits and boots, as well as any other content the time allows. We'll provide a list of extra content once set. We appreciate this doesn't suddenly make this situation better, but we do want to show desire to make good on the situation for the fans," read the statement.
And so the race is on, will Konami be able to update the offline rosters before the release of PES 2017?
