Many games have, over the last few years, introduced microtransactions that boost the performance of the player in multiplayer. This created the term "Pay 2 Win", and now developer Mode 7 has become so fed up with this trend that they've introduced something quite entertaining to their multiplayer strategy game, Frozen Cortex.

It's called "Pay 2 Lose", and for the insane price of $1 you can buy the Pay 2 Lose armour, which severely decreases the player's stats. Mode 7 had the following to say about this addition:

"Here at Mode 7, we do our utmost to zig when the games industry is zagging. We're contrarians. What, you disagree? Then, once again, we have won.

In this depressing and desultory era of "pay to win" multiplayer games, we need a bold plan for innovation. Behold, the world's first Pay 2 Lose DLC...

The Pay 2 Lose armour, when equipped by your Frozen Cortex players, has a terrible effect on their stats. Use it for effective handicapping against newer players, to humiliate your friends or for the sheer aesthetic pleasure of its ludicrous frills. All this for the totally egregious price of $1."

Makes sense to us.
