Destiny players worried by consumables

Looks like there's paid shortcuts heading to Bungie's shooter.

Earlier this month Bungie introduced microtransactions to Destiny, letting players pay for "emotes" that were included in The Taken King Collector's Edition (more on them here). This move also sparked concerns over on the developer's forum, where you can read a list of upcoming boosts to be bought in-game.

Now this discussion has found its way onto NeoGaf, complete with links proving that these microtransactions are coming. Players seem worried about this new direction for Destiny, but as far as we can see there is no real pay-to-win aspect here.

They appear to be mostly boosts for new players to help them rank up quickly, so they don't have to spend as much time grinding as veterans have done since the game was released last year. Here are some examples:

• Increases likelihood of weapon and armour drops from your next King's Fall foe. (Link)
• Fully levels your currently equipped subclass. (Link)
• Contains a Level 25 Boost, Subclass Infusion, and Telemetries. (Link)
• Mementos that brag of past military successes. An inspiration to defeat the Cabal. Increases XP gain from Cabal for 10 minutes. (Link)

Bungie has yet to comment on this. What are your thoughts on these kinds of microtransactions appearing in Destiny?
