Half-Life 3 text files appear in Dota 2 source code

Still far from confirmed.

Yes, it's that time of year once again, here's another batch of rumours that yet again concern the near mythical existence of Half-Life 3. This time, however, it looks to be the most plausible piece of proof that we've seen in a long time, as Half-Life 3 text files seems to be popping up in a new Dota 2 update.

The files can be viewed here, and are labelled hl3.txt. It includes the following tantalising information:

"Element.prop_zipline"

"npc.quest/citizen" "If you want your citizens to squad with the player but not obey commands the player gives to move the squad, put a concept here and this citizen will speak the concept instead of obeying the order."

"vrchaperone" and "vrmovement"

"npc_turret_ceiling_pulse"

Of course this could be many things; old code, a coincidence, something Half-Life related heading to Dota, or even a cheeky hoax from developers at Valve out to tease us. We don't know, you don't know, but we'll go crazy about either way, so let's at least enjoy ourselves along the way.
