While CD Projekt Red has been keeping relatively quiet with regards to their next RPG series, Cyberpunk 2077, that doesn't mean that all is quiet on that front. For example, in a recent interview, visual effects artist Jose Teixeira admitted some tantalising details about the potential size and complexity of their in-development sci-fi title.
"Cyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before," Teixeira told MCV in a recent interview. "Far, far bigger. We're really stepping into the unknown in terms of complexity and size and problems we encounter."
However, Teixeira also explained how the size and scale of this year's fantasy offering has given them the experience needed to craft another expansive RPG.
"The Witcher helped Cyberpunk quite a bit, because the game got so big and so complex that it really taught us," he explained. "We really didn't know what was going to happen. If anything, working on The Witcher 3 was a really good and often brutal learning experience. Cyberpunk is going to benefit greatly from it. I can almost guarantee it."
When is it coming out then, is there any word on that? "The name of the game is Cyberpunk 2077, and we usually say the release date is 2077," he said jokingly.
