Nvidia Shield Android TV is launching in Europe tomorrow, where it will be available online and in retailers (more details regarding availability here).
The company are boasting that it's "the only smart TV console that can stream Ultra HD 4K content at fluid 60 frames per second (fps)."
The company are also launching GeForce Now, a game-streaming service that they're describing as "like Netflix for games". Games such as The Witcher 3, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell and Resident Evil: Revelations 2 are mentioned in the press release.
Three months of access to the service is included in the cost of a Shield device, after which it will cost €9.99/£7.49 per month. The Tegra X1-powered Shield is priced thus:
SHIELD (16GB) costs 199.99€, while SHIELD Pro (500GB) is 299.99€. The SHIELD remote costs 49.99€, the stand costs 29.99€ and an additional SHIELD gamepad controller costs 59.99€.
In the U.K., SHIELD (16GB) costs £149.99 while SHIELD Pro (500GB) is £229.99. The SHIELD remote costs £39.99, the stand costs £19.99 and an additional SHIELD gamepad controller costs £49.99.
