Bungie knew the leveling in Destiny was flawed

Work on Light 2.0 began in September/October last year.

Even though Destiny sold well and got fairly good reviews, it wasn't met with the standing ovations many people expected. There was a lot of criticism, and now it turns out Bungie wasn't entirely happy with everything out of the gate either.

Creative director Luke Smith revealed in a Kotaku podcast that they knew some parts weren't as good as they could be:

"The original Light system, when that went out the door, we were not thrilled with it. We knew when that went out the door that we were going to need to revisit it. So that work basically began in earnest probably September or October [of 2014]. We had already started to work on a new proposal, the proposal that would become the Light 2.0 that's in the game now. We were working on that as early as last fall."

As we wrote in our review of The Taken King, a lot of this has been taken care of now. Have you played it and what do you think?
