No campaign with Black Ops 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360

Just multiplayer and Zombies for old-gen players.

Slowly but surely the old console generation is abandoned by developers and publishers. One of relatively few high profile releases for PS3 and Xbox 360 this autumn is Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, but punters with old consoles won't get the full package that players on PC, PS4 and Xbox One get. In fact, they're not getting the single player campaign at all, just the multiplayer and Zombies modes.

This was announced today on the official website.

"The Black Ops 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature Multiplayer and Zombies gameplay only, not Campaign. The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware."

While the campaign is generally seen as the least important part of the CoD package we're sure some old-gen holdouts are disappointed to not have the chance of playing through the impressive looking story campaign with their friends. Interestingly Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360 still comes in at the full US RRP of $49.99 you typically see for old-gen games.
